google:
Here are some photos of the François, I unfortunately did not think of doing a full report at the start of the construction. I will try to do this now, and take better quality photos.

the site with its keel (note a front and rear bearing)

quelques pièces de charpente
some pieces of frame

also from my side many thanks for starting the log and the description of your work on the Francois.
Like Oliver I am also a big fan of this ship and also of the monograph.
Just received some days ago my copy of the planset in english language, of the french version Imade already once a planset review.....so everybody more interested in this ship can take a look here:

BTW: the english translation of this monograph was done recently by our friend and member Gilles @Gilles Korent

That should be a beautiful model in 1:36.
What is the wood selection you are using?
Frames in pear, but what is the light coloured wood for the planking?

Just received also the booklet of the monograph in english language, so I had a chance to read a little bit.
The hull as well the decks of the Francois was planked with butt joints (on the two excerpts from the monograph with red arrow)

(left deck - right hull)

And we can recognize these joints also on your model

Hello Uwek, Hello all

thank's for your comments and encouragement

Your right about joint of the hull, if you look rignt there is 2 kind different of joints one on (preceinte c'est un assemblage a trait de jupiter) I Don't know the name in English, and the other on the simple plank of the hull and deck. the lengt of the planks are about 8 to 10 metres. (26 to 32ft)
Here too, for facilities, I Don't make this kind of joint at the place where I must cut for the sabords.

I bought the monograph directly from Ancres editions.

For the time being, I hope I have had enough, I will soon be retired.
This is my second ship I started with the La Renommée , but I don't know why, I don't want the continuation anymore. However it is a beautiful frigate, maybe I will continue after Le françois.
