Leudo vinaccere 1:72 scratch (test building)

Hi Everybody
I've just started the test building of Il Leudo vinaccere in 1:72.
Method and style typical for my projects, i.e. 1.0 mm cardboard frame, two layers on the hull (vertical and horizontal) and final planks. Most of the parts were laser cut. The hull length is 19.5 cm. A few pictures of the construction process:

Love your work Sir,
Can you tell me what brand of laser cutter you are using? I believe I would like to get into card stock models and design plans and cut from scratch. Beautiful work! And love the detail.
 
Hello Danno71,
My laser cutter is nothing special, imported from China and is distributed in Poland by several companies. Total NO NAME, but admitted to the European Union market and meets safety standards. Tube 50W, work space about 30 x 50 cm. It is not any high-tech product. But gives a lot of fun!!!

Hi Friends,
Some progress is visible on leudo. I made barrels, the anchor, lights, the kitchen, cleats etc.
I also made a "special" equipement, that made it possible to drag the boat out of the sea directly on the beach.

Beautiful work, Tomek! I’m very impressed and interested in your laser cut paper ships. May I ask what software you use to design the ships for laser cutting?

Hi George,
I design models in Rhinoceros3D, use CorelDraw for coloring and drawing details. Parts for the laser cutter are prepared both in Rhino and Corel, then exported to *.dxf files. Software for my cutter is rather poor and I use it only for settings (speed/power etc)
For very precise details I have to compensate for the laser cutting thickness by about 0.07 mm per side, i.e., the 10.00 mm long part after laser cutting is about 9.85 mm. If it is necessary and very important to keep exactly the dimension, I correct it in Rhino, too.

That's gorgeous - I'm building the Panart Santa Lucia and I can only hope that mine turns out anywhere near as good as yours!
 
@0Seahorse Tomek, I am really impressed with your designer's and craftsman's skills in the same time! I really regret that project comes to the end, but in the same time, I really happy for the outcome of it! An awesome model! ThumbsupThumbsup
