After many years of model building, I discovered something new. Before painting a model, I aways sand and then run my fingers over the area to be painted looking for areas that need to be addressed. I painted the hull of my current build and then decided that I didn't like the color. Low and behold; when I sanded the paint off all of the minor defects showed up. One more tip, I've worked in the Marine Industry for 60 years; one of my positions was Quality Control Manager for a major yacht builder. We had a woman who touched up the interior wood prior to delivery. She would use a razor blade at an angle over the spot that needed to be revarnished.
