Hi friends,
just wondering if someone could steer me in the right direction regarding " old world style " figurines for a stand ? In particular, something along the lines of dolphins like the picture attached. ( but better quality )
Thanks in advance.

I was looking at these on the Modelers Central web site.

One Option, if you want to spend some money: you could have it printed, and then find a caster who casts jewellery and have a silicon mould made and via lost wax casting have it cast in brass or bronze.

Thank you. I was thinking a 3d printed sculpture and painting it gold.

I searched for a pair of brass dolphins for months. Eventually I found a fancy brass candlestick on ebay in the US, incorporating 3 perfect dolphins. Always worth checking for brass ornaments. The dolphins were required for a Royal Navy admiral's barge from the early 20th century the original of which was based on the standard 45ft steam picket boat that was carried on capital ships and had a counter stern.

There is a Pegusus ships stand from MANTUA that is a Pegasus horsehead with folded wings and a curled dragon tail. I saw it recently listed for 169Euros

thank you, thats what I am after.
Hi Bryian

In NSW you can go to the local library, the larger ones at any rate, offer 3D printing services. If go online and download an *stl file I think and give it to them on a memory stick. I've had gears and other small items printed but the quality wasn,t what you are looking for in items like what your after. Our local does oes offer differnt qualities though. But I've never had a need for the top of the range. Reasonably priced as well.

Good luck finding what you're after.
Cheers
RIck
