Looking for recommendations on stores in Berlin where you can find raw materials and tools

A friend of mine who builds ship models intends to visit Berlin in mid-October and asks for your help with recommendations on stores and suppliers in the city where raw materials such as wood, manual and electric tools can be bought.
Any advice and help would be greatly appreciated

(Nowadays my "shopping" consists of searching the internet and ordering the majority of my parts online.)
