Lowell Grand Banks Dory - Model Shipways

I just read your excellent log. I’m also just beginning and contemplating the dory as my first (though will probably have to wait until January to start). It was very instructive to read the process you went through. The finished product looks fantastic. I’ll be thrilled if mine comes out as nicely.

Thanks, I appreciate that. I ran into some issues with the second model in the series, the Norwegian sailing pram, and I'm taking a break to consider my next steps.

I may just be overthinking things - I tend towards perfectionism - but the width of the planks aren't consistent between port and starboard sides and the thwart frames' shapes don't conform to the inside of the hull. I'm not sure if modifying the frames to fit will work. I might need to glue them on as best I can and fill in any gaps. It's frustrating considering how well it seemed to be going so far.
