Has anyone found a good model vacuum? I've been using a Mini Vac, but all it really does is move the dust around.
Thanks

If the masts and such are not yet set in place you can flip the hull and shake off small chips, then for dust, wipe it down with pieces of moistened paper towels held with tweezers or for the tight spots cue tips work well. Tedious but effective. For a rigged model I assume it is just dust that is an issue so the cue tips or similar implement are a safe way to go.

Often helpful is also not a vacuum, but a small blow

something like you use for cleaning the lens of a camera

well, I use my airgun compressor to blow the dust away. I do this outside. I have also used that compressed air in a can. That works really well too.

one of those very soft red sable artist brushes and an air bulb (or canned air). first using the air puffer i try to blow off as much as i can. then dampen the brush and swab the deck surfaces rinsing the brush now n again. the rigging is tougher and especially if the model is old. the lines get brittle plus realize you are working in a spider web. break one line and you are in a pickel of a mess so work very cautiously in there and take your time.

best solution to avoid this is a case.
