I have been following Uwe and his Cross section and just had to order my own from China.
All my purchases over the last 20 or so years have started at Ali Express and after checking the normal outlets like ZHL and JIANGXUEXUIMEI , I settled on a company called ZJ CN MODEL CO LTD.
Somebody on our Forum had ordered the Bonhomme Richard from this dealer and had good results, so I gave it a try also.
It took three days to get the package to FEDEX and than another five days to get it to my home.
The picture by Uwe are not doing the kit justice. The model in Pear wood is just outstanding. This is the first time that I am working with Pear and it will be my wood of choice from now on. Not a blemish period.
What I found most amazing was the price.
The kit with the added interior and barrels was less than the base price charged elsewhere. Go figure.
I always felt that the many currency devaluations in China have never been passed on to the end user.
If all goes per plan , I will try later on to built the second section , with a different interior , stowed anchor and part of one boat on deck. Uwe has a nice discussion on this idea on his building site.
