Here's an update

The hull is complete im working on the deck now.
I made one slight color change, the area between the bottom of the deck and first rub rail was supposed to be dark brown .... I wasn't feeling that and went with green
The railing is a complete nightmare, the brass stantions bend in a slight gust of wind and getting them level is extremely hard, if your off by .5mm your unable to glue it to the wooden rail due to the stantions either side of it being higher or lower, it might have been better to attach them to the wooden rail first.
I also made my own stairs, the ones supplied were thin brass 2D and looked terrible

Lots of metal parts in this kit, painting them is not one of my favorite things to do

Excellent progress! The model is looking really good. I agree, painting lots of fiddly parts is a real pain, it's often very difficult to get paint to stick to brass parts without some sort of etch primer.

Slight disaster ....

I measured wrong while placing a part on the front decking, not a problem you think just pop it up remeasure and reglue, the problem is the parts in question have holes drilled right thru the deck

Crap

I could rearrange things on the deck but that little voice in my head would not be happy so I had to strip planks out of my deck, insert new planks and sand and finish again, this was made more difficult due the the very fragile railing that surrounded it

Like the shop teacher used to say "Measure twice, cut once." Model is coming along nicely. Fair winds!

You did the right thing, those things happen, but the good thing about wood is that it can be redone. It looks like it was a lot of work, but the result is very good.
