Having received a building kit of the HMS Renown from a secrete Santa I am now into ship modelling.
The instructions are very basic and difficult to follow, but so far so good.

Well progress is slow but steady, the original kit came with a plastic cabin top.
It did not fit the shape at all, I found out that a heat gun was not the answer!!
So made a wooden one.
Never liked plastic boats anyway, so am deliberating whether to use the other two plastic bases or not.
