Osberg Ship Finishing Up

I still have to complete the steering oar and paint the “Jarl” figure, but I’m finishing up the Osberg ship. After much deliberation I decided against adding the sail and rigging. The finished model in a case would just be too huge. It would be the largest ship in my collection and I just don’t like it that much even if I had room for it which I don’t. Besides 90% of the work is in the hull and deck.

I’m wondering if there’s any way to display the sail furled on the spar that wouldn’t look weird. I’m open to any suggestions.

I agree your ship is beautiful. You have great skills.
Idea: why don’t you build a half mast, that only goes as high as the front and or rear nose pieces. Since your model is already large, a half mast would not add to the overall size. I built a front portion of the Victory, with a half mast and it looks great! Just an idea…
