Osberg Ship Finishing Up

I still have to complete the steering oar and paint the “Jarl” figure, but I’m finishing up the Osberg ship. After much deliberation I decided against adding the sail and rigging. The finished model in a case would just be too huge. It would be the largest ship in my collection and I just don’t like it that much even if I had room for it which I don’t. I’m wondering if there’s any way to display the sail furled on the spar that wouldn’t look weird. I’m open to any suggestions.

I agree your ship is beautiful. You have great skills.
Idea: why don’t you build a half mast, that only goes as high as the front and or rear nose pieces. Since your model is already large, a half mast would not add to the overall size. I built a front portion of the Victory, with a half mast and it looks great! Just an idea…
