Pride of Baltimore

As an aside, this may be of interest. In 1840’s in Australia there was a yacht - RYS Wanderer, owned by a Mr Benjamin Boyd. He sailed it from the UK to make his fortune in Australia. His story is also very interesting and worth a Google search. In the light of Boyd’s history, it’s also interesting that his yachts’ figurehead was a snake.
Wanderer was built in 1837 as a yacht by Joseph White in his East Cowes yard on the Isle of Wight. Launched 9 April.
She looks very similar to the Pride of Baltimore. Some years ago I was asked about a possibility of building a model of the Wanderer for a group of enthusiasts who wanted to recreate the ship at 1:1 scale, and I looked at Pride as a start for finding plans etc.
I found an interesting article here:
(Mentions Pride of Baltimore).
