Hi Group,
Does anyone own this tool and has used it successfully to fair the interior of a plank on frame ship without destroying it in the process ? I am tempted to purchase one as I look at the major job ahead of me with La Renommee.

Thanks
Chris

A very useful machine for internal processing of the case.I use it for a long time - I'm happy!

There is an alternative:
Kaleas GMBH for European and for US: agent Micro Mark - mini tools
A common DC transformer ~$100 for a series of tools. One of them is a right angle disc sander. A 3 jaw chuck can be added so you gain a right angle drill or any bit or cutter with a 1/8" or smaller shaft. ~$75 - so the price is the same as the Proxon.
For MM both are on back order - apparently until next year.

I am not sure if any of the other tools add points but the chuck and 1/8" allows for the 1" / 2" / 3" dia TEMU sanding disc or Roloc stuff. This adds a stand off factor.

The unit is wider and much shorter - so unless you rig a broom handle using duct tape or something more professional your hand has to be inside the hull.. For some- the up close and personal might be a positive.

There is a more elegant and very effective tool set for this but it is very very very expensive.

I have the Proxxon delta sander {multitool} OZI/E which is more versatile, it comes with reciprocal saw blades, useful for removing the excess from bulkheads.
