Rattlesnake 1/48 - Harold M Hahn

Hello Knut, It is nice to see you back to your Rattle Snake build. You sure have improved your very fine skills and it shows very much so in your build. I see that you have acquired some very fine building tools and that you are very good at using them. Keep up the great work and you will be laying hull planks very soon.

Thanks Lawrence, Rattlesnake has been on hold for a while, I'm currently practicing building Blandford.
I have noticed that it is an advantage since there is still a lot of trial and error.

Hoy, Oh I love this ship. I was planning on building a 65 foot LOD version of it. Yes, I said 65 feet LOD. I build some of the largest model ships in the World. At this moment I'm working on a 40 foot LOD Brig of war, American 1796 design, the fore father of the Schooner. Anyway, back to the Rattlesnake.
As I understand it, the Rattlesnake was built in America but captured by the British. Thank goodness for that because the British, would take captured ships to their engineers, builders and draftsmen to study and draw a set of lines of the ships. For that reason we have drawings of this ship and other American ships. For some reason many American ship drawings don't exsist. The drawings to many American built ships are in the UK not America.
Sorry mates, I digress after seeing all these drawings of this beautiful ship. My employer gave me a fabulous print of Rattlesnake. I will include a phot of t hff e print after I post this comment. I will also post a photo or two of the 40 Brig of war. Hold my beer, I'll be right back.
 
WOW, and i vas tinkin thath 1-48 was a small modell. my nekst prosjekt will be 1-36 or 1-24, no so fidely-
