Re: Royal William 1/48 scale

Thanks to all for the Birthday wishes, I had a Fantastic day with Family and Friends, had a lovely lunch at a local hotel, a superb Buffet Lunch with plenty of seafood and meat's and lots of lovely desserts, and also some lovely presents, thanks once again for all your support,

Best regards John,

Some of the presents I received for my Birthday, my Admiral asked me to have a look around and see if there was anything I would like, so I had a look on Ebay and came up with this mini saw table, I already have one like it but I thought this one would be a bit of a bonus, it was on ebay for AUD 180 only been used for one project, when it arrived it was like unpacking a new saw, I'm really -pleased with it, it came with a 36 tooth blade and a 24 tooth blade plus a rip blade, Variable speed control, Rise and fall blade also the blade tilts,

I also found on Face book Market place this Artesania Latina HMS Bounty, and also an Artesania HMS Endeavour, I was'nt going to buy any more kits but at the prices I could'nt resist, I thought that they would be good for just building out of the box, if I got to the stage where i couldnt cut my own timber anymore,

The Bounty had a CD instruction disk,

everything was as new and still packed in the original cellophane,

The Endeavour had printed plans and instructions,

Next up was making the hand rails for the waist area, I made these out of brass rod, I did'nt have long enough pieces of rod so I had to sleeve them to join them together,

the basic rails,

and a close up,

I used one of the miniature figures to get the correct height, and some wood blocks till the glue dried,

another view,

a view across the waist,

it was very tight to get the mini drill in place where the ships boats were, so I drilled a small hole in the end of a piece of dowell and glued in a drill bit and drilled them manually,

the sleeves don't seem to notice too much,

and a full length pic,

thanks for looking in,

best regards John,

Hi John,
Nice progress, the waist of you model looks very nice along with your beautiful stand.
It's always nice to get new tools for the workshop.
I hope the fence on your new saw is reasonably rigid and parallel to the saw blade.
Cheers,
Stephen.

John, that’s a great table saw and I have this myself. I ended up selling my Byrnes table saw and use this instead.
