I bought the plans for the Bailey Gatzert Steaner, which was a ferry built in 1890 that operated til 1920's in Puget Sound and on the Columbia river. The plans had no interior detail, no engine room detail, so i tried to do research for data and photos on Google. I got almost nothing. So i tried Grok AI, it is free. WOW what a difference, I found hundreds of photos, I also discovered that there were many Steamers, with similar names (Bailey Gazzert, Bailey Gayzert, Bailey Gazzert, etc. I also got a lot of detail information, # of passengers (which changed over time) # of cooks, size of dining room, size of ladies room and the decor, lights used, first gas then electric, changers in engines, details for the bridal suite, menu for meals served, names of famous chefs who cooked on board, etc. If you have never used AI you should try it, it even lists all the resources that the data based used to provide the photos and data. I used the search multiple times and each time i refined the search criteria I would get new material, so be patient and be creative with your search perimeters, you will be amazed.
