My kit requires me to dye 2mm natural rope to black. Any tips would be appreciated. Never tried to do this. Or maybe guide me to a place to buy black thread that size. Thanks all

Contact @craftysailor Egor, he recently acquired threads with different diameters, colors, and excellent quality made in Russia.

In the US I do not know, but here in Spain NO problem. Black, Dark Brown etc. We have hw¡ere in Spain at least 3-but nay be more, which dedicated to Ship in Wood build apart from Plastic. Have a huge amount of fittings to all the Models they sele, apart from their own production CASA REYNA Y model Reyna are the oldest one. I know this Shop since 1878- the Year I moved from Denmark to Spain. My first model here in Spain en Model Reyna: Victoria. Absolutely NO part was Cut, this you had to do yourselves, following some burned lines

Most every ship modeling web site has rigging thread available. Some better than others. Definitely consider buying some black rigging threads rather than going through the dying process. If you must dye the beige thread then black India Ink is my recommendation...available at art supply stores.

I used India ink I had from years ago for fountain pens worked great

I do this reasonably regularly. I use Black India Ink, cut a long section of the 2mm line and place in a small container. Add the ink and let it soak in for about an hour and then let it dry. Works well and is still very flexible, natural looking. You get get India ink on Amazon. Windsor and Newton is the best.

My Billing Boats Constitution only came with white line. I didn't realize the standing rigging should be black since this was my first ship and I hadn't been aware of forums like this. The Admiral helped me by taking a Sharpie and coloring the lines black. Thank goodness only the jib stays needed coloring. I went to th hobby store and bought some line that worked pretty well.
