as a follow up I just went out to the garage where I built my ships and the line that I was going to adjust is tight again?? could it be the humidity affecting the line I live in Florida humidity is high here. could it be the temp as it runs in the 90s and then the 70s at night? it is very strange!! I know the strings on my guitar flex depending on the weather so maybe the rigging line is also affected by the weather? maybe it is in the dead eye rigging that the problem exists? any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Cotton, hemp ropes will always change their length with humidity. Polyester ropes will not.

your ship is now a weather forcasting gage. its the rigging lines and all the hull n mast wood expanding and contracting with the humidity. i dont see it as a problem... its just the nature of the materials. i like the at ease look myself.

I'm in Florida too and you can bet it's hot and humid down here. The humidity really does play havoc on ship rigging but as stated above you can try poly thread instead of cotton. Best thing is bring your model into the house where I presume you will have AC. Then the threads will sag a lot less. Whatever you do don't tighten the rigging when it's extended. Leave it alone and it will tighten back ok when the humadidity goes down.

that is what I figured!! it's relaxed in the afternoon and tight in the mornings! yes, the model will be in the house when completed. I like the relaxed look of the rigging. I moved here to Ocala last year it is hot and humid!!!
