i think the book is in German so i can not put a value on it so make an offer

My German is not that good but without google translator I would say it about ships from 16/17th century?

Only wish I learned to read German, when I took classes 40+ years ago.

Hope you find a good home with someone who can read.
 
I am curious as to whether the following portrait shows up in this book. I have been searching for a higher resolution image for years now:

there are a lot of images in the book but not the one you posted
