Just goofing off, waiting on replacement parts from OcCre for the beagle. Decided to try to make a rope walk machine. Used stuff (building materials) from around the house and got motor and speed controller from Ali express. Figuring out the hole’s location for a little free play and not to tight against the main gear and bind up was the trickiest part. IMG_7281.jpegIMG_7267.jpegIMG_7282.jpegIMG_7268.jpeg
Used 5mm brass rod and bearing's. Drilled holes in rod and soldered 1” hooksIMG_7270.jpegIMG_7271.jpegIMG_7272.jpegIMG_7274.jpegIMG_7278.jpegIMG_7279.jpegIMG_7266.jpeg
Worked out some spacing issue with washer and a little filing and gave it some juice(power) 12volt dc

I used different plastics for the gears and ball bearings... they are all loud. The only one I made from timing belts was the silent one. But took to much parts to build. Gears are more accurate. Just the noise.
You can try to build the gears in a wooden box, that helps a bit reducing the sound.

I got my gears on Amazon.

The smaller gears I got are out of stock but I’m sure with a little sleuthing you can find available ones.
Thank you for the tip
Hopefully I want need anymore gears, as I hope this one last me a good while
