Yesterday, I picked up a very large model at Good Will, I think it's supposed to be the Yacht America. This is a plank on frame model that is better made than most, the stern counter is not the correct shape (I'll need to rebuild that) as well as have a friend 3d print the Eagle and flags. I'll do a simple base cradle to hold it. She has incorrect bow trail boards, and jib, I'll pull that off and remake one that is shaped square as the real vessel had. The rigging is (SITF) Slap-It-Together-Fast style. I'll take her down to the deck and make corrections. There is some minor hull damage as well as a crack along the keep (nothing that crazy glue can't correct). I may have to hand make the blocks because of the size. Sails are in decent condition, but the reef lines will be replaced because they are incorrect. I'll be working this between customers model, I'll probably give it to the local Pontchartrain Yacht Club when finished. The model is about 45" long, need to figure out the scale as well.

The real America was 101.3' long, the model is 46 inches long 101.3x12"= 1,212 inches/46" give me a rough scale of 1/26th. can someone check me on this?

Does anyone know where I might be able to get some 3D printing done, I'll need the trail board scrolling and name plates as well as the Eagle from the stern. However, I'll need to figure out if the design is correct for the bow items. the eagle is from the NY Yacht Club.
