Royal Louis - Mamoli

Hello again. It’s been a while since my last post, I have been building Royal Louis but haven’t been posting any updates so I think it’s about time to show you where I’m at.. I shan’t describe how parts were made as this type of info has been written about many times by much better builders than me so I’ll just show you in pictures the current state of the build.
I’ve made up and fitted the bowsprit and the masts including the necessary blocks and fittings. I’ve done all of the deadeyes and shrouds and I’m a good way into the ratlines, at the moment I’m dying the death of a thousand knots. The rigging plans are excellent with no difficulty so far in following, my only criticism so far is with the thread, it’s quite course and a strange khaki colour, I’ve replaced it from my own stash. To show it off I've also made its display stand.

Hi Ken,

Looking very splendid! Much respect for the rigging, it is Trojan work doing rat-lines in the weather we are having at the moment! I had to take a pause from rigging the Cutty Sark because I was just melting in my hobby room, hopefully, I will make some progress over this week-end now it has cooled down a bit!
