Hello
I am looking for the rigging plan (and sail rigging) of the Saint Philippe
I know that Ancre has a full monography for this ship but I am just looking for the rigging plans.
Can anyone assist?
Thanks

Hallo Gilbert,
when I checked the Saint Philippe monograph I can state, that there is not so much information given for the rigging

The drawings which are related to

masts and spars

Pl.41 Mainmast spars
Pl.42 Foremast spars
Pl.43 Mizzenmast and bowsprit spars

related to sails

Pl.44 Sails (1/96 scale)

and some small information on the standing and running rigging

Pl.45 The St-Philippe under sail (1/96 scale)

but that is all

Hallo Uwe
Many thanks for your reply
Very useful indeed.

I could imagine that the rigging information of the Ambitieux could help you more

interesting photos of the rigging of the LE LOUIS XV - Vaisseau trois-ponts - 1700 (32 photos) are also available in the book

If you do not find exactly what you are searching for remember you can always use a rigging plan from similar ships of the era. Rigging plans were not that different by type and year. In addition, every Captain always had their own ideas for how to rig their ships…
