Santisima Trinidad Cross-Section 1:90 OcCre - Second Build

Got the inner hull planking done last night and applied matte finish to it.

Then realized I forgot the deck supports. Started work on them was hoping to finish them tonight.

Instead put together a display cabinet for finished ships. Since I do not have enough ships to fill it, I filled it for the moment with some of my other valuable items. Wonder how many can identify some of the other items. Incredible number of points for anyone who can identify the item on the third shelf down on the right. It was my grandfather's favorite possession, that he took many places after acquiring it. Yes, that is his hat on the top shelf.

Hoping in the future to add more ships to the cabinet.
Are you referring to what appears to be a chamber pot or the clock-ship. I love the Bill the Cat!

Hung the ship today in its permanent place in the dining room. The Admiral is very happy. Which means I will continue to be happy. Thanks to her for making new sails and helping to assemble the case.

The crew will arrive after training (painting). Wanted to get it up, out of the way, and protected.

Just caught up on your build, Rebus. You’ve done a wonderful job, and the case looks fantastic.

Namabiiru, well done you get all the points for picking out the chamber pot. Few today would know what it is, but this one is special because my grandfather took it as a "souvenir" from the Myrtle Banks Hotel in Jamaica during WWII. Then he carried with him to every duty station of his naval career, from 1940s to 1965 when he retired. This includes his tour on a PT boat in the South Pacific and while climbing a mountain in Antarctica when he was Captain of a supply ship. They went to Antarctica to resupply the station there. He carried it up the mountain just so he could say he did. It is bone China and has the seal of the hotel in gold leaf along with the gold rim. When I did some research, I found out the hotel burned down in the 1980's I think. Was going to offer it to them to put on display along with the story. So for now I have it to pass on to the family some day.

Bill the Cat and Opus are still my favorite comic strip characters.

Magnificent Rebus! The Admiral has great taste. That place looks like it was made for your model. Well done! And please give compliments to the Admiral!
RussF,

Thank you for the kind words. I have passed on to the Admiral your compliments. She says, "Thanks."

Good morning Rebus. Congratulations. It really turn out to be a fabulous display on the wall. Cheers Grant
Grant,

Thanks for the kind words. This was a build I really enjoyed and was glad to do for the Admiral.

Cheers,
Rebus

Got the figures together finally. About 5 of them were very difficult. Finished priming them today. Now to do some cleaning up and start the process of painting them. Not planning on using all of them on the cross-section, but might as well paint them all at once since it is a process to get them done for me.
