My 10 year old Granddaughter asked me to build her a boat. How could I refuse. I asked her to look at different models that I had built and select one. She choose the Banks Dory. She, however, did not want it painted. She wanted it natural. My thoughts were that I would have to get some color on it. So I used pine for the ribs and sides and walnut for the seats and seat rails to give it some color.
I used the attached plans by John Gardner to build it. The scale is 1 inch = 1 foot. The wood used was milled from regular lumber. The sides were cut on the Microlux Tilt Arbor saw.
