Sea of Galilee boat - 1:24 scale

Very nice. Was this from a kit or plans? I have been looking for a build just like this one.

Excellent model, very nicely done! I have thought of building the Sea of Galilee boat but I still have other obligations blocking the way. I have an article that I copied from the web a long time ago. I have attached it in case it might be useful to others.
Happy modelling.
Steven

Lyle,
Do you have a building log for this model?
I got in touch with the maker of the kit and he gave a small information in how he came to build and produce the kit.
I have a building log that I will post as soon as I finish the sail and the rigging.
It is a very interesting model to build.
You did a very good job.
You can find my build log here:

There’s a great book about the discovery and recovery of the boat.
I mentioned it in my build log… worth a read!

Looks familiar… might have been one of the build logs I referenced from time to time during the build.

After further review, this log was the "test" log of the original build. I referenced it quite a lot but there are several differences from the original first build and the current build. Still worth looking at as a reference.
Also, in my build, I took a few liberties in the creation of the boat based on historical possibilities.

enhorabuena

Grengraf,
I agreed with you about the details you are mentioning.
I’m glad you mentioned it because there is very little information about this fishing boat.
If you could post pictures of those details will be of great help for me and the others who are planning to build this boat.

I'm not sure my translator was 100% accurate but I appreciate the comments and criticism.
The build was difficult to find solid information since there is no real information, just speculation based on the time period and other vessel built during that time period.

disculpen si no consigo explicarme bien

The translator comes close enough to understand your points.
I agree that the hull treenails are way oversized... especially for that scale.

No plans
It does have a super detail instruction manual that the maker includes with the kit on a CD.

This is what the kit looks like.
A great thing about this kit is that all planks comes already tapered.
The wood is a soft mahogany very easy to bend when planking.
