Sergal Cutty Sark scale 1:78 Robertd [COMPLETED BUILD]

nearly 2 weeks further , rigging and more rigging ! Running out of rope , so now waiting for supply , I ordered that in the UK , similar what I have rigged so far .5mm hemp , in the meantime I decided to add a companion ladder ( gangway) still had some scratch stuff over from a previous build , designed and made that suits the Cutty Sark , I think it looks okay and just add a little personal touch , hair raising and fiddly working in between the shrouds , a snap so now and then , or cut accidentally , oh well , keep going .

Almost a week further down the track , received new Hemp rope from the UK( I would say Customs got suspicious by the word ‘Hemp’ , and investigated as suchROTF ) , anyway , out of eye pins in order to complete and secure the yard chains on deck , with all the ropes it is getting a bit crowded , wonder how they managed on the real thing, the ropes between the yards will have to wait till last, also changed the inboard gangway

I wonder why most kits run out of thread? Those gangway steps look so cool. Funny story re the Hemp ROTF

Thank you , a quiet birthday spent with friends , yes the model is coming along fine, tricky though with the lines , so many of them

Wow Robert! She is looking great and the rigging ... sure looks intimidating.
Just watched some very informative and sailing experiences on YouTube of the real thing with her competitor Thermopylae on the Wool run from Australia to England and earlier on on the Tea run , hence the name Tea Clippers but obsolete and made redundant by steamships and the opening of the Suez Canal.
