Working on another revision of the former Laughing Whale kits - the Sharpie. This will end up being a totally different iteration of the 50+ year old original. With the exception of the dowels and stripwood for the sheer band and the toe rail, all of the wood components will be lasered. Here's one of the plans.

Hull length is 21". The layout is different from the Midwest kit. Cost to be detemined once we do a cost analysis.

I decided to laser the sails for this kit. They are rip-stop nylon and include all of the lacing and attachment holes - no measuring needed. The material I'm using is quite white, so I've lightly sprayed the sails with an antique white solvent-based paint. The sails remain pliant and look more realistic. I've suggested doing this in the instruction manual. I'd avoid acrylics, as I suspect they might not adhere well to the nylon.
