Ship's Boats Made with Pantyhose Fabric

Greetings to you, "The learner"! You seem to have left the little build log behind when you posted this question. But that's okay. You have found me.
Yes it's interesting that you are expressing how much you like this hull construction method. When I figured out how to make these back in 2011, they were one of the essential finishing details of a ship model that I'd been working on for 8 years. As much pleasure as I got out of completing the mother ship (which was U.S.S. Constitution), I fell in love with the building process that emerged almost magically as I turned out these 4 ship's boats.

Anyway -- the answer to your question is, there are 2 layers of ladies panty hose in each of the boat hulls.DSC_0150.JPG

Most small boats I have built I used the bread & butter method which I felt comfortable with with good results with exception of a small Chinese kit that I put together that looked real neat. Question do you feel that I can use any stretchy fabric in place of hose? My wifey
Does not wear any longet.
