Currently pricing manufacturers for soleil royal. ZHL around $400 (plus around $100 for shipping) Mantua $1200, De agostini also around $1200 Why such the large discrepency. Quality? Anyone who has built these, feed back would be appreciated. I have been following "Bigmike" here on SOS. I'm leaning toward ZHL.

Who makes the best Le Soleil Royal kit?

I was all set to purchase the 1/48 Bonhomme Richard - then I took out my tape measure. I just don’t have the space to build it or display it. So now I’m looking at the Le Soleil Royal in 1/77 by Mantua, or 1/90 sold by ZHL. Since I’ve already built the Heller Victory, I’m not interested in that...

I bought the Mantua before the modified it with the new done decking. This reduces the value of the kit in my opinion.
