Hi all,

Many early 20th century vessels had galvanised steel standing rigging while the latter half of the 20th century and going into the 21st century we have stainless steel rigging.

While there is a lot of info on modelling fibre rigging, I've been unable to find anything on modelling gal or stainless rigging.

Does anyone know a source for modelling gal or stainless rigging ?

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Here you go, Mark:

Thank you both,
Velachero, I've looked at fishing leader, unfortunately it's all specified by breaking strain plus all the ones I've looked at had a nylon or similar coating, I'd have to buy a whole bunch and work out a way to strip the coating before I could see what the actual size was. For that reason, not my first choice but I'm keeping it in mind.
Paul, thanks for that link, for the sort of model I'm thinking of that could be quite reasonable.

Unfortunately my original post was poorly worded, I was mainly after a pointer to information on methods such as how to terminate wire rigging at model scale etc
