I use sticky printer paper to make names for the ships that I build. My problem is, removing the backing. I've tried bending it at a corner, inserting a needle between the label and the backing, and applying tape to both sides then pulling them apart. Nothing works. Any ideas?

Hi Marty
It sounds like you are speaking about label paper. Can you give a bit more information about the paper you are using? If it is label paper that you are using, 3M label paper is easiest in my experience but more expensive. There are off brands that I have used but they are not as easy. Peeling the backing for me has been by fingernail or tip of my scalpel blade to get it started as I do not want to bend and crease the paper. Sometimes printing on thinner paper like silk span has looked better and no need to peel off any backing. Matte medium works well as a glue for silk span.
