What a beautiful piece of work, as Paul has already mentioned I think that this small deviation will not be visible over time. I really like the color, very nice warm wood, I suspect pear. I correct it, it is cherry.

Cherry wood can be problematic when considering finishes. It will, over time, darken on its own. A couple of coats of light shellac is usually good but as always, its up to you. And because cherry can be splotchy, a pre-stain conditioner might be needed for an even finish. Cherry is a beautiful hardwood. ((Depending on light conditions it may take up to 3 years to darken.)
