Does anyone know what ship name that Boudriot attributes to the figurehead he uses in the book. I'm in the midst of buying the set, but would like some info, or, does he keep it generic?

In the forward he does specify that it is a French 74 gun and states that it is from around the 1780 time period, but other then that it appears generic. Although he does mention that he was primarily using one in particular, he did not mention which one, at least in the forward. :)

Yeah that's what I'm gleaning..Doesn't he depict a figurehead in his drawings? With a reference to which it is?

In Volume #1, Plate 1 and Plate 2 there are no figureheads. Also Plate 13, "Details of the Head" there is none.
However, inside the front and rear covers is a ship that does have a figurehead that looks like maybe it is Mercury. I don't know the ship, but maybe someone else on the forums can identify it. :)

Beware of the plans !
I'm building this ship in 1/48 and in 1/72. I'm now at the end of the construction and planking of the hull.
The drawings are riddled with errors.

Although , good luck with your build.

I'm considering putting my 3 vols up for sale. They are the FRENCH edition, but as the old saying goes;-"A picture is worth a thousand words". With them comes a F > Eng, Eng. > F, Marine Dictionary. The pages of all vols are in v.good condition inside (little use to my eyes), but the dust covers show fair wear & tear, mainly owing to previous long term storage. Vol 3 has the cover unstuck at the binding, BUT all page binding is intact - it actually makes reading easier as the pages tend to lay flatter. I would be looking at offers (+ shipping) around £65, but open to negotiation :). Preferably UK & Europe, if shipping isn't too complicated etc.. If anyone is seriously interested, I'll do some photos, & get an estimate on shipping.
NOTE to admin:- feel free to move this to a more appropriate place, if you so wish.

Now that ominous! What were the issues to look for? Did you build a POF or POB?
