Hello dear friends
As part of my vacation in New York I decided to visit this special museum. I will first mention a few details about this respectable institution: The Noble Maritime Collection is a museum and study center located on the former grounds of the famous retirement home, Sailors' Snug Harbor, on Staten Island's North Shore. Its mission is to preserve and interpret the art, writings, and historical maritime artifacts of the distinguished marine artist, John A. Noble (1913-83)
and to continue his legacy of celebrating the people and traditions of the working waterfront of New York Harbor in its collections, exhibitions, and programs; to preserve and interpret the history of Sailors' Snug Harbor; to preserve and celebrate Robbins Reef Lighthouse; and to operate a museum and maritime study center inspired by these themes.
The museum is housed within a large park containing a number of institutions. The entrance to the museum is not in the front of the building but around it.
I would like to tell a lot about this special place, which pays homage to this special artist and his artistic and historical work, when alongside his works are combined in my estimation over a hundred ship models as well as objects related to ships and sailors who served in them. I tried to photograph for you the most impressive ship models, pictures and objects, while next to the models I also photographed the explanation of the ships the people who created them (so you will get a detailed and accurate explanation).
