Since I came to the city of Macau, I have met several local masters who used to make real boats. Because of the decline of Macau's shipbuilding industry and their retirement age, they can only show the real ships they have built through models. When I saw them, I immediately expressed to them my intention to learn. They taught me their craft of making boats without reservation.

So, together with another two model fans, I formally learned from the master the technique of making ancient Chinese GuangDong version sailboats.

The pictures below are the historical photos of the real ship, as well as the on-site record of the master teaching us to make the ship model. Finally, of course, our group photo is indispensable!

See me with a small scale model on it? Let me talk about this model of mine. Because I have experience in making kits, based on the master, I added some production methods for making models of western boats. For example, a frame base.

I pre-glued the deck beams before skinning. Since it's my first time doing it, I'm only going to do the exterior model. So I just laid out the deck and didn't even do the splicing.

The pattern on the stern is actually an abstract image of an ancient Chinese coin. It means that it can increase the income of fishermen.

This is very interesting and good news. Now please bring out this model in a kit form so that we finally have an authentic and historically accurate model of a Chinese vessel produced by a Chinese company It will be very interesting to see which Chinese manufacturer would be interested in such a project.

Very interesting way of building the hull - many thanks for sharing with us

As far as I know, two Chinese brands have partnered with us to develop model kits for these types of boats. Stay tuned!

Going back to my model, I started building the builds and parts on the deck. A lot of things in the picture I need to modify or redo later. Because I didn't pay attention to the class and take notes, the homework I did at home was wrong......For example, the steering rudder, the anchor frame of the bow, the deck of the bow, etc.

What I am proud of is the hatch that can be opened and the reel stopper.
