Thin plank bending (edge bending)

So just goes to show there are so many ways - the one above "with a good soaking" to my (actually Chuck Passaro's) only with one wipe with a wet finger letting the heat of the iron do the work. They all work, it's just choosing what works best for each modeler.

I think your original question has been answered, yes you can edge bend, yes you need to taper and bend, and yes it's all been done. I wish you the best sorting out which approach to take. :)
 
I haven't tried this, but if you can bend a thicker plank without a problem, you may be able to make your planks thicker and then sand them to the correct thickness.?
