A few days ago I was using my very old, (30+ years) Dremel disc/belt sander when it suddenly started to slow down and smoke. I realized I may have been working it a little hard , but no more than usual. When I noticed the smoke I decided to blow on it and let it rest for a while. However, with this extra ventilation to help it cool down, it suddenly burst into flames on my workbench. It was not bolted down (thankfully) and I was able to get it outside where it completely burned up. As a result of this frightful experience I will brush and vacuum the dust away from the motors of all my shop power tools.

Good that nothing seriously happened - and many thanks for sharing this experience - It is remembering me to clean more often, because "Nobody knows ...... "
