Twin Eye Breeching Line Connection?????

Hello everyone,
Would anyone or anybody have any information as to when or what time period a Cannons Breeching Line would have been used in this configuration using Twin Eye Bolts?????
I am trying to determine if this method was being used around 1740 onwards??????

Don't know if they where used earlier but the where certainly used on ships during the American civil war, see pic.
