USS California 1/200. 3D printed.

Okay, thank you David.
Although this is a superbly produced model and the fine detailing in 3D printed parts are exquisite, theres no instructions whatsoever .

I am left to my own devices in trying to interpret how things should be positioned with internet photos of the real ship. In addition, I should point out to anyone considering a 3D printed kit, please be aware if you drop a piece on a hard timber floor, it will fly apart into multiple bits.
To me, knowing there were no instuctions for assembling this model, makes what you've done even more impressive. Did you know that to be the case when your ordered the kit? Despite the raised possibility of there being something part positional 'errors', the ship looks fantastic. Great work Brian. Thumbsup

Thanks Steve.
Having built three previous 3 D printed ship models, they all have zero instructions. The model builder has to figure it out himself.

Hi Brian admiring your work once again, this time in your new medium - Congratulations. Just a comment on the 1944 Seaplane fit out for what its worth. The first photo you posted shows Vought OS2 Kingfishers on the catapults which were the standard wartime equipment for US Navy Ships at that time. I believe the second photo showing the Seahawks is an end of war or later photo as the Seahawk prototype first flight was in Feb 44 and the first operational Seahawks delivered were to Air Station USS Guam at the end Oct 44 on conventional wheeled landing gear with the floats fitted after as they became available and as required. Good news is I believe there are a lot of OS2s available online in your scale, Bad news bit more painting unfortunately :-( Cheers
