USS Constitution 1:70 Scratch

Spent about two hours today on the bowsprit cap. Rather than fussing with an angled square hole, I just built it up from two pieces and glued them together.

I’ve started working on the gratings at the bow. Unlike the real ship or the plans, I won’t be making them out of many separate pieces. Instead, each side will be built from just two parts.

I’ve already made the forward gratings, but I haven’t glued them in place yet.

The gratings and the seats of ease in the bow area are now completed. I have to admit I took the lazy route here and made the seats from solid blocks instead of building them hollow.
