Lanyards are looking better all the time. I think it helps that I’m not afraid to take them apart and do them over. 
Finally got around to looking at the 1:1 schematic to see how they portrayed the rat lines. Apparently, there were supposed to be three times as many of them. “Directions? We don’t need no stinking directions !” To misquote the bandidos

Using knitting hook to capture rat lines when the shrouds get too close together. 
The Admiral corrected me. It’s a crocheting hook.
A touch of ca stiffens up the ends of the rat lines to make them more manageable. 
Mizzenmast is in! Now need to do sails lifeboats and stairs. Then I can start on black pearl.

My first usable sail is a jib, complete with loops from the bolt ropes. I haven’t a clue whether the loops are cringles or clews. Maybe Santa will tell me. 
This has always been my dream ship to build and to visit when in Boston. I will be keeping a closer eye on your great work.

We do have a place on a long table. Thinking about roping off the passage to get to it though to keep someone from bumping into it.
Might have to build a case for it.
After an infinity, I added the first three sails to the foremast. This is tedious work and I had to try several methods to put them together. I finally decided to pretty much go with the kit plans. 
I’m no expert but it looks real good to me!
Sewing the reefers on the foresail. That’s the course sail, of course. I guess it’s better to sew them than to smoke them. You certainly wouldn’t want to do both at the same time! It’s bad enough doing it with muscle relaxers. Only stuck myself once.
