Getting started on my 2nd wood build, USS Rattlesnake, MS version. Since I consider myself a beginner, I am following another thread on this same build by TKAM. If you feel that your in the same "boat" I am, I recommend you follow TKAM and others for the best tips.
Here we go!IMG_20200111_162117.jpgIMG_20200111_162128.jpg

Sanded and install of bulkheads. This was quite time consuming, and as careful as I was trying to be, I broke multiple pieces. But, mend them up and keep going.

Long time since I last updated this log. I have the bow filler and stern counter blocks carved and in place. These carvings were not as difficult as I thought. However, minor adjusting will need to be done, I'm sure.IMG_20200407_142041.jpgIMG_20200407_142055.jpgIMG_20200411_181056.jpg

The transom, windows and decorative work. I used my mini files to take the rough edges off, the layered black, raw sienna and tabbed yellow to simulate a old gold overlay.
