Down the rabbit hole, I ran across:
A blog about interesting ships and recent failed museum ships in particular. It is VERY well put together and worth checking out. A few entries I really liked were on the HMS Implacable of 1801, the SS Admiral Mississippi excursion steamer, and a brace of very early submarines. Best thing I found on the web in a while!
