Viking bust

The handy bit is that since it's a 3D print from an .stl file, you could scale up the print to as large as your printer could support... so one could easily make it over ten inches tall if a person wanted to. But fully agreed... really, really good painting skills. The fact that the OP managed this with such a small model is even more impressive. I remember when I was in my teens, I painted the crew of a Tamiya 1/16 scale Tiger I tank model... including the piping on the commander's uniform. To pull that off I literally trimmed away all but about four bristles on a modeling paint brush to be able to get it fine enough for the detail. At my current age, I couldn't even consider detail like the OP did with their model. Extremely well executed.
You are correct, I can scale the STL file to be as big or small as I choose! I actually printed the Viking at 70% of the original size.
The Tomb Raider figure is printed at 50%.
I don’t care to print large files…they use more resin, take up more space, and require more paint and more time to print! ROTF.
I am used to painting pilots in 1/72 scale for my aircraft. So these figures are huge in comparison! ;)

Today I painted the left hand, glove, gun and nails. Then I painted the shorts to look like jeans, and then the belt and holsters.
She was then glued to the base…finished!

Well that’s it. Hope you enjoyed watching another figure come to life. It’s always exciting to me to see the transformation. That keeps me motivated. ;)

Beautiful work Dean!

You mentioned that you use Vallejo's Model Air series exclusively to brush-paint, even though it is made for airbrushing. I've read that people using that have had adhesion issues on plastic if the part is not primed first, but it doesn't look like you primed the figures. Have you run into any adhesion problems?

Thanks Russ, I do use Vallejo surface primer on resin. It is light grey, the same color as my resin...lol. On plastic, I do not use a primer, but I am careful when handling parts until they get a clear coat. After clear coat, never an issue. ;)
