Wanted to buy

Other similar like the "Manual" by Peter goodwin would be an alternative.

Are you referring to HMS Victory Owner's Workshop Manual? As Peter Goodwin was curator of the Victory Museum at one time, I would imagine he has some really good information in it.

What prices did you find for the Longridge book? I saw one for US$50 for the book including shipping. I know this seems high but compared to $1200 for a Caldercraft Victory kit, maybe worth the price of admission?? :) https://www.abebooks.com/book-search/title/the-anatomy-of-nelson's-ships/author/longridge-c-nepean/

Here in the UK, I've never found any of the books referred to expensive or rare on ebay.
Of course, if you try hard enough, expensive examples can be found!

I just looked at the ISBN label on my copy of Peter Goodwin's manual (2012), it has a price of £12:99 : US$19.95 : Can $21.95. From that, you'll be able to tell if rip-off prices are being asked.
I also have Mackay's, McGowan's, & Longridge's books, all obtained at very reasonable costs. Postage is the killer nowadays, plus all the 'red tape'. Once my Vic is completed, I'll no doubt be offering them for sale.

I have Jean Boudriot's '74 Gun Ship' vol. 1, 2, & 3. They are the French edition, if anyone is interested in making an offer. They're in very good condition inside, showing lack of use, but the dust covers are showing signs of age & from being in storage. One volume has its cover unglued at the spine, but all pages are secure - actually it helps to keep pages flat when in use, I found!

Hey Pug.. was thinking of you today..hope you are doing well and getting back to shipbuilding
Thank you for your kind thoughts. I've found immense strength from the 'support' of members here.

Recently I've been overdoing the physio in attempts to remain pliable and fit.
A more 'sympathetic' approach is bringing me back from the whirlpools and eddies.

Surprisingly, I've found myself being seduced by the organic purity of Viking Longships.
In my ignorance I always considered them to be rowing boats on steroids; but, as so often happens, one discovers new appreciation for these 1,000 year old ancient vessels.
Remarkably, several complete examples have been retrieved from 'burial' mounds and preserved in museums where every detail can be seen.

My curiosity knows no bounds!
