Thank for welcoming me as a new member to the ships of scale site.
I am really looking forward to the discussions.
I use to build in 1/700 then 1/350 now its 1/200 at this rate it won’t be long before I start with 1/96.
Beau.
dear @Beau and @willem ,Thank you for the welcome. For one year now i am retired after 4 decades of interesting work. My kids gave me a beautiful ship model to build and what better time (being forced to stay at home for the time being) to take up this challenge. it is many years ago i built my last ship and indeed this model Shipyard Mercury 1:72) will be quite a challenge. so i am happy to have found this forum.
Thanks for the welcome. Looks like a good bunch here, I spent a little time checking out the sire, a lot to look at. Lol.
Hallo and a warm welcome here on board of our forum to both of you. Thanks for the welcome. Now in lockdown so have dug out a very old Maryland 1799 model which I was given about 25 years ago !
The build instructions are minimal apart from a couple of scale drawings and a general guide to planking, so it will be a challenge. Looking at this site there does seem to be some invaluable guidance though.
I have seen references in posts to a build manual and wonder if and how it would be possible to acquire one ?
Great to see, that our membership is growing and growing - and with all the members "our" experience and number of projects is also growingTwenty modelers decided to be a member of our Ships of Scale forum.
