What was the most common type of wood used for English shipbuilding throughout the West Indies in the early 17th century?

I would presume it was Teak.

Would Oak have been common shipbuilding material.

English Oak was for sure on British built ships in the U.K, but ships built in India were often made from Teak which was the timber available there and an excellent durable wood.

Also very often Mahagony was used in the beginning for ship construction, a very long lasting timber..... Teak and mahagony were also imported from the Wets Indies to Europe, mainly Spain, which had no own timber enough for construction of there Armada...
