Line ship Printz Friderich 1761 have been found at Læsø

The night between 29 and 30 September 1780 wrecked one of the Danish Navy prides Læsø. The 52-meter Danish line ship Printz Friderich sank with 667 male and 70 cannons, when it ran aground on Copper reason at Læsø. Officers and crew were in poor weather during the three days rescued on Læsø. Partly in line ship's own boats and partly by both land. Only 6-8 man crew were lost.
The wreck was later forgotten and only by a persistent year-long search for the diving Kim Schmidt, it has now been found. Kim Schmidt and Underwater Group has searched more than 104 km2 of seabed with side-scan sonar and magnetometer and dip of more than 200 anomalies on the seabed around Læsø, to find the wreck.
From the wreck is recorded objects that determines the wreck origin. They will be part of Læsø Museum's special exhibition for 2019 on "Shipwrecks and wrecks at Læsø". Stories involving many destinies and angles.
Underwater Group Aps by Kim Schmidt will now together with Læsø Museum and Museum Bangsbo seek to raise funds for further studies and picking up objects. Wreck woodwork is much degraded by borers, but the ballast stones and sand, it is expected to find guns and equipment.
From first dive on the wreck procession Kim Schmidt brass kåreskæfter, lead musketerkugler and lead plate with the royal crown. The article was published in Læsø Museum's Annual Review for 2013.
