Yacht Gretel Mamoli 1:54

Hello everyone,
That means the lower part of the second layer is now finished too.
It consists of 4mm mahogany, which, like the walnut above it, came in beautifully cut strips.
These were actually a little warped, but that turned out to be an advantage in the end.
This meant that, just like with the walnut strips, I didn’t have to soak them in water and bend them.
Next, I’ll be cladding the keel before putting the finishing touches to it.

Have a lovely Sunday, everyone

Hello everyone,
So, the hull and the keel are now finished and sanded down.
As you can see, I’ve also fitted the windows and the transom.
I’d actually intended to make both of these myself, just like the door. But in the end, I decided to go with the original parts from Mamoli.
I had a cycling accident last week, which means I can’t go to work at the moment. A Rottweiler thought it had to jump into my side.
That’s obviously coming in handy for the boat-building.
Next, I’ll probably fit the rudder before moving on to the deck planking.
Take care and don’t let anyone push you off your bike.

It looks beautiful.
And it is always risky to play with Rotthweilers

Hello everyone,
I’m currently fitting the interior panels with 3mm walnut.
Whilst the wood was drying, I had the idea of making a back panel for the bench with a brass edge.
To do this, I’ve combined 2mm-thick mahogany with 1.5mm round brass.
Best regards
